Are you interested in having a voice on ways to improve classroom conditions to effectively support student learning?
Then you may be interested in serving on the Council to Improve Classroom Conditions.
The Council to Improve Classroom Conditions was established in February 2017, and includes nine teachers – three each from elementary, junior high/middle and high school as well as a principal representative.
To maintain the balance required in legislation, a new member is needed: Principal.
Current experienced practicing Principals interested in serving on the Council can apply here.
The PSAANS executive will select the member from the expressions received and recommend this member for Council.
Members’ expenses are covered at the rates provided for the public service.
The Council’s mandate is to focus on priorities including assessment and evaluation, attendance, complex classrooms and inclusion, technology and data collection and reporting.
The Council is co-chaired by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and the Nova Scotia Teachers Union, and has two additional members appointed by the department.
