PSAANS will hold Board of Directors elections in September 2026 for Director seats in selected regions. Members may also submit an Expression of Interest to be considered for appointment to the Board.

Ratification: The Board of Directors will be ratified at the PSAANS Annual General Meeting, Thursday October 15, 2026.
Election process
PSAANS will hold elections for Director seats in the following regions:
- CBVRCE - One (1) Director seat
- HRCE - Two (2) Director seats
- SRCE - One (1) Director seat
- TCRCE - One (1) Director seat
Members only vote for candidates in their own region. If there is a tie, a run-off election will follow.
Where an election is required, eligible members will receive voting instructions and a personal PIN by email. This PIN is for the member’s personal use only and should not be shared with, or used by, anyone else.
Self-nomination
Active PSAANS members who wish to stand for election may complete the self-nomination form during the nomination period.

Self-nominations open on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, and close on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Candidate information will be posted on the PSAANS website after the nomination period closes.
Voting
Voting will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
Expression of Interest for appointment
Members may also submit an Expression of Interest to be considered for appointment to the PSAANS Board of Directors. These seats are used to increase the representation and diversity (gender, ancestry, skills,) of the board.
Up to four appointed Director positions, with no minimum number required, may be used to respond to the need for further diversity on the Board of Directors.

Governance overview
PSAANS represents public school administrators across Nova Scotia, including principals, vice-principals, and administrators working at the school and system levels.
The PSAANS Board of Directors includes elected Directors and appointed Directors. Directors serve two-year terms and must be active PSAANS members.

Providing support and protection services for members in order to enhance effective leadership and promote the recruitment and retention of leaders.
